RM BTS Criticized by Chinese Netizens, Suga Challenges Back With This Post?
Korean media and netizens questioned whether one of Suga's posts on Instagram was his reaction to Chinese netizens who recently attacked BTS's official Instagram account.
BTS's Suga (Bangtan Boys) recently shared his portrait from the "Daechwita" era. However, Korean media and netizens questioned whether this was his reaction to Chinese netizens attacking BTS's official Instagram account.
On February 8, 2022, Chinese fans began attacking BTS's official Instagram account with hatred after RM (Rap Monster) openly supported South Korean players at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
Over the past few months, there has been a lot of news circulating about South Korean fans and Chinese K-Pop fans struggling because of the clashing cultural issues of the two countries.
Now RM is under attack for posting a video to support Hwang Dae Heon showing his amazing performance in the semifinals of the Men's 1000m sprint at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The BTS leader combined Hwang Dae Heon's video with a nod of approval by using the "applause" and "thumbs up" emojis despite Hwang's controversial elimination.
RM's actions are considered quite disrespectful to Chinese fans, even though the victory is pocketed by them. Chinese netizens started flooding BTS's official Instagram account with hate comments. Just like the other members, RM limits comments on his personal Instagram account.
On the same day, Suga posted a photo of himself dressed as a tyrant king from the music video for "Daechwita" which was released in May 2020. He is wearing Gonyongpo, the traditional Korean Hanbok with the caption "D."
Korean media showed how Suga posted after RM was criticized by Chinese netizens. Hanbok itself is one source of problems, because China is considered to have carried out cultural appropriation of these traditional clothes.
Suga is said to have intentionally posted a photo of him wearing a hanbok to challenge Chinese netizens. But Suga could just reminisce about the second mixtape without any other purpose. What do you think?
