Son Ye-jin Confident Drama Thirty Nine Meets Viewers' Expectations
Son Ye-jin said that her latest drama, Thirty Nine, could meet the audience's expectations. The drama is said to have an interesting storyline coupled with slick appearances from the cast.
"I'm sure [this drama] will live up to your expectations, because the script is good, the staff is great, and the actors are amazing," said Son Ye-jin as reported by Osen via Naver on Thursday (3/2).
Thirty-Nine is Son Ye-jin's latest drama after attracting the attention of global audiences through the drama Crash Landing on You in 2019 and 2020. In the new drama, he will compete with Jeon Mi-do (Hospital Playlist) and Kim Ji-Hyun (Hometown ChaChaCha). ).
Not only in front of the camera, but Thirty Nine also has a big name behind the camera, namely Yoo Young-ae as a scriptwriter. Previously, he was the scriptwriter of several hit Korean films, such as Kim Ji-young: Born 1982, and On Your Wedding Day.
"You won't regret it, so please look forward to this drama," said Son Ye-jin.
On that occasion, he also revealed that his character in Thirty Nine, Cha Mi-jo, is very different from his personality. However, he admitted that he liked the character up to all the dialogues and scenes he played.
"I approached [Char Mi-jo's character] and thought that she was a little cold and maybe more rational than me. I felt limited in expressing the character, so during filming, I kept thinking, 'I'm Cha Mi-jo,'" he said.
Cha Mi-jo (Son Ye-jin), Jeong Chan-young (Jeon Mi-do), and Jang Joo-hee (Kim Ji-Hyun) are close friends who have gone through many hardships and joys together.
